Pedestrian seriously injured in Patrick's Day collision in Cork

The 28-year-old man was hit by a car at around 8pm last night in Youghal.

A 28-YEAR-OLD MAN is in serious condition at Cork University Hospital after being struck by a car in Cork last night.

The collision happened at around 8pm last night when the pedestrian was hit by the vehicle at Upper Strand in Youghal. He was brought by ambulance to CUH. The condition of the driver is not known.

The road remains closed while a forensic examination of the scene is carried out this morning. Diversions are in place in the area.

Gardaí have asked for any witnesses to contact Youghal Garda Station on 024 – 92200 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
