Pedestrian killed in Dublin

Elderly woman dies after being struck by a car in Ballyfermot last night.

A WOMAN IN HER 70S has died after being struck by a car on the Ballyfermot Road at around 10pm last night.

The woman was seriously injured in the collision and taken to St James’ Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Gardaí say no one else was injured in the incident.

The road was closed for a time to allow a technical examination to take place, but has since reopened.
