Pedestrian killed in Waterford city

An elderly man was struck by a car in Waterford this morning.

AN ELDERLY PEDESTRIAN has died after being struck by a car in Waterford city this morning.

The man was struck and fatally injured at about 11.50am today at Ursula’s Terrace. The road has been closed pending a forensic examination.

AA Roadwatch says the closure of Ballytruckle Road between Mansion House and Poleberry Road junction is expected to continue until around 6pm.

Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses to contact them on 051 305300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
