Man dies after being struck by vehicle in Limerick

A section of the road remains closed to facilitate a garda forensic examination.

A MAN IN his 50s has died after being struck by a vehicle in Co Limerick.

The man was walking on Lord Edward Street in Kilmallock when the incident happened at about 5.15pm.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem will be carried out.

Gardaí said no other injuries were reported and no arrests have been made.
