Pensioner charged with 16 counts of child sex abuse in UK

Scotland Yard says today that the charges date back to 1949.

A 77-YEAR-OLD man originally from Australia has been charged in the UK with over a dozen child sex abuse charges dating back to 1949.

Reginald Davis of from Wanneroo, Perth faces 16 charges of abuse, according to Scotland Yard, and will appear in court later today. It is not clear if he is currently a British or an Australian citizen.

The attacks are alleged to have occurred between 1949 and 1971 and charges include four counts of raping a child under 12. Davis is also accused of attempted rape and indecent assault on children.
