Take a look at a note the under-pressure PTSB boss made for himself

Jeremy Masding faced a grilling yesterday.

Permanent TSB admits wrongdoing Brian Lawless / PA Wire Brian Lawless / PA Wire / PA Wire

PERMANENT TSB BOSS Jeremy Masding yesterday fielded questions from the media after massive failings in the handling of some mortgages were revealed.

Of the more than 1,300 customers affected, some 22 may have kept their homes if these failings hadn’t occurred.

Press Association photographer Brian Lawess caught a close-up of Masding’s notes revealing some subtle instructions to himself:

Serious, controlled, no smile.

He declined to explorate on this, or how he was feeling today about the situation, when questioned by RTÉ’s Morning Ireland, except to repeated his “unreserved apology” for the failings.
