Man (61) killed in Kildare crash after van overturned

Gardaí are carrying out a forensic examination of the scene.

A 61-YEAR-OLD man has died after the van he was driving overturned in Kildare last night.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, after the van collided with a ditch and overturned.

It happened at Cush on the Athy to Kildangan Road at around 9:30pm.

His body was removed to the morgue at Naas General Hospital where a post mortem is expected to take place later today.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision examination and diversions are in place.

Witnesses to the collision are asked to contact Kildare Garda station on 045 527730, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
