PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THE Royal Photographic Society’s International Print Exhibition will soon be on display at the Municipal Gallery in dlr LexIcon in Dún Laoghaire, Dublin.
Images from the prestigious exhibition, which is in its 158th year, will be on display from this Wednesday, 11 May, to 22 June.
It is the longest standing exhibition of its kind in the world, having been held almost every year since 1854. This year’s exhibition opened in October 2015 at the East London Photomonth International Photography Festival and will continue touring the UK and Ireland until August 2016.
The competition received nearly 5,000 entries from students, amateurs and professionals from 56 countries.

Speaking about the images chosen for the exhibition, British photographer Simon Roberts said the pieces reflect “different age groups, nationalities and the varying interests, methodology and vibrant aesthetics of the photographic medium today”.
Kenneth Redmond, arts officer at Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, added: “The exhibition features a variety of photographic styles and approaches; from intimate portraits and powerful action shots to challenging documentary and landscapes capturing the beauty of the natural world. There will be something of interest for everyone.”
