PHOTOS: Farmers mount Kildare St protest over CAP reforms

There’s a load of bull on Kildare Street today. Literally.

KILDARE STREET TODAY is, literally, home to a load of bull.

Members of the Irish Farmers’ Association – and some of their livestock – have been holding a demonstration outside the Department of Agriculture headquarters, just down the street from Leinster House.

Their demonstration comes as Simon Coveney chairs a meeting of EU agriculture ministers in Luxembourg, as members try to hammer out a deal on reforming the Common Agricultural Policy.

The talks among ministers hope to outline a common position for the European Council, ahead of tripartite talks with the European Commission and European Parliament in Brussels later this week.
