Pierce Brosnan's daughter dies of cancer, aged 41

Charlotte Brosnan died from ovarian cancer – the same disease that claimed her mother Cassandra Harris 22 years ago.

IRISH ACTOR PIERCE Brosnan is mourning the death of his daughter, Charlotte, who has died from ovarian cancer aged 41.

According to a statement from the star, she passed away on Friday last “surrounded by her husband Alex, children Isabella and Lucas and brothers Christopher and Sean”. It’s understood she died in London.

Pierce says Charlotte fought her cancer “with grace and humanity, courage and dignity”. He continues:

Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl. We pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand soon. We thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences.

The Navan-born actor adopted Charlotte – the daughter of his first wife Cassandra Harris – in 1986, following the death of her father. Cassandra also died of ovarian cancer, at the age of 43, in 1991.
