Hoax pipe bomb found outside Dublin city centre pub

The Swan bar was evacuated last night as a controlled explosion was carried out on a suspicious device.

A DUBLIN CITY centre pub was evacuated last night after a pipe bomb was found under a car parked outside.

The suspicious device, which gardaí later described as a hoax, was found on York Street, off Aungier Street at around 10.10pm.

An area between Great Longford Street and White friar Place was sealed off as the army bomb squad carried out a controlled explosion on the device.

No injuries have been reported.
