POLICE IN ENGLAND are seeking a man seen on CCTV wearing an Ireland jersey in connection with an alleged sexual assault in London.

Police say a 17-year-old girl was assaulted on a bus in the Thamesmead area of the city on 23 April this year.

Her suspected attacker is described as a a white man, of medium build, aged about 30 to 40 years of age with short dark hair.

“Unwanted sexual behaviour on the transport network is not tolerated,” a Scotland Yard spokesperson said.

“All sexual offences are taken very seriously.”

Police have now released images of a man they are hoping to speak with in connection with the incident.

The CCTV stills shows a man wearing an Irish jersey on a bus.

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Joanne O’Connor on +447795 266293 or Crimestoppers anonymously, quoting reference 177872.

Opinion: You shouldn’t be afraid to speak out after being sexually assaulted. I know, because I did >
