Police: Bomb explodes near Acropolis in central Athens

The explosion followed a warning call to a Greek newspaper.

GREEK POLICE SAY a bomb has exploded near the Acropolis in central Athens, but it was not immediately clear what the target was and whether anybody has been hurt.

The explosion followed a warning call to a Greek newspaper this evening.

There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
