Father stabbed to death, while daughter, 14, is critical in Manchester

The man who is understood to have started the knife attack also died a short time after the altercation.

POLICE IN THE UK are continuing to investigate an incident in which a man was murdered and his 14-year-old daughter was stabbed.

At around 10.20pm last night at a house on Delta Walk, Moston, Manchester, officers discovered the body of a 41-year-old man who had been stabbed to death.

His 13-year-old daughter was also found at the house with serious stab wounds and was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

It is believed an altercation took place at the address and the offender then left the scene.

Just before 1am in the early hours of this morning, police were called to Watfield Walk, Harpurhey after a man had threatened a car owner with a knife and stolen their vehicle.

A short time later, the vehicle was seen near Rochdale Road by police and when officers approached, the driver drove the vehicle into the side of the Alliance Pub. He was taken to hospital suffering from a stab wound and injuries consistent with a collision but died a short time later.

“We are continuing our inquiries and as you would imagine, there are lots of threads to unravel and multiple scenes we are currently examining,” said superintendent Vanessa Jardine.
