Police seek information over Derry shooting incident

Two men, each aged in their 20s, received gunshot wounds to their legs after an incident in the Highpark area of Derry.

POLICE IN DERRY have issued an appeal for witnesses to a shooting incident in the city last night, in which two men were injured.

The incident occurred at around 7:15pm last night in the Highpark area of the city.

A 23-year-old man received a gunshot wound to his left leg, while a 20-year-old man received a gunshot wound to his right leg.

Both men were taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for their injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening.

Anyone with information in the incident, or who observed any unusual behaviour in the area, is asked to contact the Strand Road CID unit at 0845 600 8000, or to anonymously contact Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
