Poll: How do you feel about Irish beef?

A fresh case of BSE emerged in Co Louth yesterday.

YESTERDAY A CASE of BSE, or Mad Cow Disease, emerged in Co Louth, the first such case seen since 2013.

This morning agriculture minister Simon Coveney acknowledged that the find will most likely see Ireland’s beef status with the OIE downgraded back to ‘Control Status’.

However, Coveney insists there is nothing to worry about given the animal didn’t enter the food chain and the stringent nature of Ireland’s safeguards.

But are you happy to take the case at face value? How do you feel about beef after the spectre of Mad Cow Disease raised its head once more?

We’re asking: Are you worried about Irish beef?

Poll Results:

No (6169)
I'm concerned, but let's see how this plays out (2009)
Yes (739)
I don't know (122)
