Poll: Do you support the striking bus drivers?

Bus services are at a standstill due to a dispute over the companies putting 10% of bus routes out for private tender.

FROM MIDNIGHT LAST night Dublin Bus and Bus Eireann drivers began the first of two planned 48-hour strikes.

The dispute is over a plan to put 10% of bus routes out for private tender.

The workers are concerned that if more routes are opened up to the private sector in the future, it could trigger a deterioration in the pay and conditions of members.

Up to a million people are being disrupted this morning and both bus companies are planning to take High Court action today against the trade unions involved in a bid to recoup some of the money lost as a result of today’s strike.

So today we’re asking, Do you support the striking bus drivers?

Poll Results:

No (6209)
Yes (4843)
I don't know (631)
