Poll: Do you agree with the death penalty?

What do you think?

THE EXECUTION OF Richard Glossip, a man who maintains his innocence in the case of his murdered boss, was halted yesterday.

Not because there were concerns over witnesses or evidence, but because the wrong drug was sent to lethally inject him.

The case has reignited debates about the morality of the death penalty. Critics cite its finality, the fact that many executed people have been proven innocent and the moral quandary of a life for a life.

Those in favour say that it is the harshest possible punishment for the most severe crimes and is cost effective.

What do you think?

We’re asking: Do you agree with the death penalty?

Poll Results:

No (6247)
Yes (4272)
Only in exceptional cases such as terrorism/mass killings (3980)
I don't know (426)
