Poll: Do you feel sorry for our politicians?

John Gormley has said being in government is like being in an “asylum”, while Dermot Ahern spoke about the difficulty for his family putting up with protests outside their home. Do you feel any sympathy for our elected leaders?

GREEN PARTY LEADER John Gormley has described life as a government minister as akin to being in “an asylum”, with “non-stop criticism” and a “lack of choices”.

Meanwhile, Justice Minister Dermot Ahern has said he won’t be standing in the next election, and said that recent protests outside his home upset his family.

So do you feel any sympathy for our elected leaders – after all it’s not an easy job, and they have to put up with a lot of public anger? Or do you feel that if they don’t like it, they should pull out and let the country elect someone who actually wants the job?

Do you feel sorry for our politicians?
