Poll: Do you plan to donate your organs after death?

“Wide swings” in donation activity have been observed in Ireland, so we’d like to ask: do you plan to donate your organs after you pass away?

TODAY MARKS THE first day Organ Donor Awareness Week – which begins amid news that organ donations for 2012 were down 17 per cent on the year before.

The 2013 awareness campaign, which runs until next Saturday, hopes to address the ‘unpredictability’ from year to year, according to chief executive of the Irish Kidney Association Mark Murphy.

In addition to raising awareness, the Irish Kidney Association is hoping to raise much-needed funds with Forget-Me-Not emblems.

In light of the “wide swings” in donation activity observed in the Irish population, we’d like to know: do you plan to donate your organs after you pass away?

Poll Results:

Yes, but I don't actually have a card yet (1847)
Yes, I carry an organ donor card (961)
No (896)
I'm unsure about what to do (374)
