Poll: Do you read the product information on your medicines?

Have your say…

A NEW SURVEY by the Irish Medicines Board (IMB) has revealed that 3 in 5 Irish consumers read the product information included with prescription medication – while just one out of two people read information included with over-the-counter medicines.

While GPs and pharmacists remain the most trusted source of information about medicine, 1 in 3 Irish adults with internet access also use the internet as an information source on medicines.

Pat O’Mahony, Chief Executive of the IMB, reminded consumers that all drugs have some potential risks or side effects, which can be minimised when medicines are taken “in the right way and at the right time”.

We’d like to know what you think: do you read the product information on your medicines?
