Poll: Do you think Ireland is good value for tourists?

A survey has found that while more Irish people still holiday abroad than have a ‘staycation’, most believe that Ireland is increasingly a good-value tourist destination. Do you agree?

A NEW SURVEY which asked Irish people where they would spend their main holiday this year – if they were taking one – found the number ‘staycationing’ had slightly increased on last year. While more Irish people still go abroad (40 per cent) for their main holiday rather than stay in Ireland (27 per cent), the gap between the two groups is closing.

Another interesting finding in the survey is that, wherever the respondents were holidaying, the vast majority (73 per cent) believed Ireland had become better value for tourists since the recession.

Do you agree? Is Ireland now a good-value tourist destination?

Poll Results:

It's better than it was a few years ago but price of accommodation, restaurants etc. should be further reduced (845)
No, it's completely overpriced (774)
Yes, absolutely (166)
