The CEO of Volunteer Ireland says we have the power to change Ireland by giving a bit of time to each other and to community causes. Do you have the time/inclination to volunteer?

THE NATIONAL DAY of Volunteering is coming up on 30 September. More than 8,000 people participated in last year’s event – and over 15,000 Irish organisations and groups are mainly run by volunteers.

Yvonne McKenna, CEO of Volunteer Ireland, wrote this powerful argument for TheJournal.ie today in favour of volunteering as a way of tackling our social problems.
