Poll: Are you in favour of free GP care for under-5s?

THE GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCED in Budget 2014 that it will introduce free GP care for children aged 5 and under as the first step of its plan to roll out  free doctor visits for everyone.

The move will take away a costly expense for parents; however it has been described as a ‘political stunt’ by the Irish Medical Organisation and others – including columnist Aaron McKenna – have criticised the costly and universal nature of the scheme.
