ALTHOUGH THUNDERSTORMS ARE affecting parts of the country this morning, temperatures of up to 20 degrees are forecast for a number of days over the next week.

Meanwhile, mainland Europe is dealing with an unprecedented heatwave, with a temperature of 44.3 degrees recorded in France yesterday.
