Poll: Would you oppose a homeless shelter in your community?

A committee wants the Abigail Women’s Centre on Kildonan Road to shut down.

SOME FINGLAS RESIDENTS are calling for the closure of a homeless centre for women in the area.

They say that some locals feel “trapped” in their homes because of the residents’ behaviour.

A spokesperson from West Finglas Tenants and Residents Association said the nearby football pitch is checked for needles before matches, and sexual behaviour had also been reported by locals.

Dublin City Council told TheJournal.ie it has put in place security patrols, and has also moved some residents out of the centre.

So today we’re asking, Would you oppose a homeless shelter in your community?

Poll Results:

Yes (4141)
No (3101)
I don't know (1312)
