Poll: Is it ever okay to use a phone in the cinema?

Let’s have a heated debate.

IT’S SATURDAY NIGHT – and for many of us that means a night at the movies (yes, we base our entire understanding of the modern world on half-century-old US pop songs – that’s okay, right?).

Anyway – news reaches us that a US cinema chain has reversed its contentious plan to allow phone use in some of its screens after a tsunami of criticism on social media.

The CEO of AMC had suggested the move could be considered as a way of attracting more young people to the cinema.

This evening we’re asking: Is using a phone in the cinema ever okay?

Poll Results:

No. Just no. (11939)
Sparingly - once you're not distracting anyone else. (5466)
Yes - what's the issue? (659)
