Poll: Do you have any interest in what the royals get up to?

What will the new princess be called? … Do you care? … Should any of us?

THANKS TO SOCIAL media, the debate on whether people in Ireland should show any interest (or be seen to show any interest) in births, marriages and deaths within Britain’s royal family now plays out in real time.

There’s clearly a huge interest in the latest addition to the family (if you’ve been living under a rock – Kate had a baby yesterday). But many people have also taken to Twitter to voice their bewilderment about why one baby should merit such unremitting attention.

What do you think?

Poll Results:

It's ridiculous. I don't pay any attention. (6983)
It's like a soap opera - why not take a passing interest? (5668)
Love the royals. LOVE them. (2706)
I'm not taking part in this poll. (1545)
