BOOTS IS TO start selling the morning after pill over the counter from Wednesday.

The emergency contraceptive will be available without a prescription from pharmacists for €45.

Choice Ireland and The Irish Family Planning Association welcomed the move. However, the Irish College of General Practitioners says dispensing medicine “in this way raises issues about the quality and continuity of care given to patients”.
