Poll: Should we care what the international community thinks of us?

Joan Burton has asked people planning to attend tomorrow’s protest not to provide “photo fodder” to international media. What do you think?

LABOUR’s deputy leader Joan Burton has begged Irish protestors planning to take to the streets in Dublin tomorrow not to provide “photo fodder” for the international media.

Burton said that people should bear in mind that the violent protests in Greece during their financial crisis “really damaged its tourism trade”.

Is it important for us to show the world that we’re more than ghost estates, piebald ponies, and people begging in the streets? Or is it even more important to show that we have a voice, and are not prepared to accept the ineptitude of our politicians lying down?

Poll Results:

Yes - protestors should be aware of world's media (331)
No - why should we care what they think of us now? (288)
