A NUMBER OF REPORTS this morning have suggested that an Oireachtas committee is to recommended that people who paid their water charges should be repaid.

An Oireachtas committee is looking at the future of water charges in Ireland and this recommendation is expected to be part of their conclusions.

The government has repeatedly stated that those who paid charges before their suspension were merely following the law and therefore they are not owed a refund.

Instead, relevant minister Simon Coveney has said that those who didn’t pay should instead be pursued. But what do you think?
