We’ve collated a list of reasons to be cheerful about 2011 – let us know if we’ve forgotten anything.

IT’S 1-1-11, AND there are plenty of reasons to be cheerful about the year ahead.

There’s the prospect of at least two elections – the general election and the presidential election; the Rugby World Cup; state recognition for civil partnerships between same sex couples; Bertie Ahern’s retirement from politics, and even the heady possibility of Jedward in the Eurovision.
