I’m living in Laois and this is disgusting! It’s all fine and well to say that the buildings are old or the quality of service is not up to standard but this is nothing more than cost cutting measures dressed up as so called concern for the elderly! Protest please!
A protest has been organised for Sunday 20th November at 2 p.m. Starting at the Manor Hotel Abbeyleix. Please all attend. We have to stop the closure of Abbeyleix and Shaen! These old people are the ones who built this country and reared us all. Surely they are entitled to some dignity and respect to live in these hospitals as they wish.
you voted in 2 FF tds the last election, so it wont take long to forget these closures,after all it was FF that set up the HSE/HIQA. the idea being to keep politicians at arms lenghty from nasty decisions, it’s revolting to see fleming up on his high horses on this issue.
It’s a shame more time is not spent discussing these issues in the Dail. The thought process behind these decisions needs to be made public, only way the Government can hope to achieve some level of buy in.
