The Port Tunnel has reopened after a vehicle went on fire this morning

The tunnel was closed since around 7am.

THE DUBLIN PORT Tunnel has fully re-opened after it was closed in both directions this morning when a heavy goods vehicle went on fire.

The 5 axle ban on trucks in the city centre has been reinstated after it was temporarily lifted to help ease traffic.

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 7am.

A man was taken to the Mater Hospital as a precaution this morning.

Dublin Bus reported that some of its routes were experiencing delays due to the closure:

While Dublin Airport advised passangers to allow extra time for travelling to the airport.
