Man arrested after Portlaoise stabbing in broad daylight

The victim received non life-threatening injuries.

GARDAÍ IN LAOIS have arrested a man after a stabbing in Portlaoise.

A man in his late 20s received non life-threatening injuries in the stabbing, which occurred on Church Street in the town this morning, at around 11am.

The victim, also in his late 20s, received apparent stab wounds and was brought to Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise.

Gardaí arrested a man, late 20s, a short time and distance away.

He is currently detained at Portlaoise Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
