Man rescued after breaking leg in cliff fall

The man fell near Martello Tower in Portrane yesterday evening.

Dublin Fire Brigade paramedics and rope rescue crew assisting the injured man last night.

A MAN WAS rescued last night after breaking his leg in a fall from a cliff in Portrane, Dublin.

The man took a fall near Martello Tower in Portrane at around 8pm and Dublin Fire Brigade were called to assist. The man was in an inaccessible location and so they called the Coast Guard in to help reach him and bring him to safety.

Skerries Coast Guard responded to the incident, as well as the Dublin helicopter.

The casualty was recovered and taken by helicopter to hospital.
