Post-mortem after 3-month-old baby dies of her injuries

The baby’s father has been arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm.

THE BABY GIRL who died last night after being admitted to hospital on Wednesday with serious injuries has been named.

Police in Northern Ireland identified the 3-month-old as Caragh Walsh of Glasvey Drive, Twinbrook in west Belfast.

The child’s father was arrested and has been charged with grevious bodily harm. Christopher O’Neill (23) of the same address appeared in court on Friday morning.

A post mortem examination on the baby is to take place in the coming days.

The BBC reports that defence lawyer for O’Neill said that the child had been in some sort of medical distress when the 23-year-old had taken action to try to help her.
