Post mortems to be carried out on two men who died in house fire

It is not yet known how the fire started and an investigation has been launched by gardaí.

POSTMORTEMS ARE DUE to be carried out on the bodies of two men who died in a house fire in Kildare.

The men – aged in their 30s and 70s – were discovered in the early hours of yesterday morning after a blaze broke out at a bungalow in Tully East.

It is not yet known how the fire started and an investigation has been launched by gardaí.

Members of Kildare Fire Brigade were called the scene of the fatal fire shortly before 3am on Tuesday morning. It’s understood that by the time they arrived the house was engulfed in flames and the roof had fallen in.

Gardaí and members of the Garda Forensic Team also attended the scene.

The adjoining house was evacuated amid fears the fire would spread.
