Post-mortem to be carried out after boy dies in quad bike accident in Clare

Ultan Hayes died in hospital from his injuries after the crash.

A POST MORTEM is due to be carried out on an 8-year-old boy who died following a quad bike accident.

Ultan Hayes died in hospital from his injuries after the accident in Whitegate, Co Clare on Thursday evening.

He was originally taken to Limerick Regional Hospital before being transferred to Temple Street Children’s Hospital in Dublin, where he died yesterday.

Gardaí said his death is being treated as a tragic accident.

The boy’s father was also injured in the accident when the quad bike hit a stone wall, but his injuries are not believed to be serious.
