Post mortem to be carried out on Roscommon stabbing victim

A POST MORTEM will be carried out today on the body of a woman who was stabbed to death in the middle of the afternoon in Roscommon yesterday.

The woman in her forties has been named locally as Ann Henry. She was found on the roadway outside a house in The Spinney in Roscommon town after she was stabbed at around 2.30pm.

A man in his twenties who was arrested yesterday is still being held at Roscommon Garda Station.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to contact them at Roscommon on 090 6638300 or on the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111
