Almost 400 Dublin homes left without power overnight after sub station fire

It’s not known what caused the fire but vandalism has been ruled out.

ALMOST 400 HOMES in Dublin were left without power overnight after a fire at an ESB sub station in Ballyfermot.

It’s understood that the homes will be without power until at least 10 o’clock this morning.

The Dublin Fire Brigade said they attended the scene at Blackditch Road with two pumps, and managed to make the scene safe.

The sub station was badly damaged in the fire which started at around 6.35pm yesterday.

ESB network crew are working to restore power with the use of generators, but it is proving difficult.

An investigation into the cause of the fire will be carried out. It’s not known what caused the fire but vandalism has been ruled out.
