A PRIEST WAS locked into a bathroom during an incident in South Armagh last night.
The PSNI said that detectives in Newry are investigating an aggravated burglary which occurred at a Parochial House in Jonesborough Village on Wednesday 30 October.
They said that at around 11.30pm, the local priest disturbed three youths in the office of the Parochial House.
The youths assaulted the priest and left him locked in the bathroom of the property, before making off with a small sum of money.
The priest was able to escape from the bathroom by climbing out the window. He was later taken to hospital to be treated for facial injuries.
The PSNI said that inquiries are ongoing and police are asking anyone who was in the area and who may have noticed any suspicious activity or who has any information to contact CID in Newry on 0845 600 8000.

This saddens me to see such offensive behaviour on our elderly,irregardless of religious status or not,disregard for another human life is always disgraceful,shame on those thugs,I hope they are caught and giving community work for their crime!.

Perhaps because of all the sectarian troubles previously in the North
Also because the robbery took place in a parochial house. Stupid comment, nothing unusual about a person’s profession being mentioned in an article.

How is this Karma? Do you know something about this priest that we don’t? Just because he is a priest, doesn’t mean he has abused anyone. There are far more decent priests than child abusing priests.

The discrimination in some parts of Irish society towards the Catholic Church is disgusting. Hitler behaved this way towards the Jews and look what happened there. It’s moronic and of low wit to brand a person because of their profession.

My comment is merely highlighting widespread discrimination aimed at individual people on the basis of the actions of a very few, i.e. Just what Hitler did. Drawing on past lessons learned regarding discrimination helps to improve future learning and actions. I think you simply misunderstood what Godwin intended John ;-)
