School closed after World War II projectile found on grounds

It’s not believed to pose any danger to the public.

A WORLD WAR II projectile was found at a school in Manchester this morning.

Police were notified at 8am.

The Explosive Ordnance Team (EOD) were called out to the scene on the grounds of the school on Alcester Street, Chadderton.

They set up a cordon but the projectile is not believed to pose any danger to the general public.

The school is now temporarily closed and road closures are in place while the situation is resolved.
