Price Comparison: What can I buy in Limerick for under €560,000?

From a four bed semi-d in Raheen to a three bed townhouse on South Circular Road.

GETTING OUR HEADS around the fluctuating property market can be confusing, but we’re here to make things a little easier.

Each week, we’ll pick a number of homes within a similar budget, to give you a better idea of where things are at at any given time.

This week, we’re looking at properties that are on the market in Limerick – from a four bed semi-d in Raheen to a three bed townhouse on South Circular Road, all of these should leave you change if you’ve got a €560k budget.

Four-bed, semi-detached, Raheen – €369,000

33 Owenmore Drive is a four-bed family home with a floor area of 157 m². It was built in 1975 but renovated as recently as 2019. It’s now filled with natural light. The rooms inside comprise an entrance hall, living room and then an open plan kitchen, dining and sitting room. A guest toilet and a home office/bedroom completes the ground floor. There are four double bedrooms upstairs and the main bedroom has an en suite bathroom.

The attic, accessible via a stira, has a light and is partially floored for extra storage. There’s parking to the front and a lovely garden to the back that’s home to a block-built shed, which is a utility space. The area of Raheen is just 5 kilometres from Limerick city centre

Three-bed, townhouse, South Circular Road – €450,000

9 Harbour View Terrace on Limerick’s South Circular Road has a floor area of 148 m². A restored period property, the rooms inside consist of a hallway that links to the main reception room that has high ceilings and sash windows. The kitchen and dining area is large and has another lounge off it. A guest toilet completes the ground floor. 

All three bedrooms on the first floor have sash windows and 9 ft high ceilings. The back garden is bright and well-maintained and home ti a shed. The South Circular Road has maintained its desirability as a location which is perfect for raising a family who wish to be close to either primary schools, secondary schools, university or just simply wish to be able to stroll into the city centre at the weekend instead of wasting time sitting in traffic.

Four-bed, detached, Castletroy – €490,000

Bel Air in Castletroy is a family home with a floor area of 150 m². It sits on an elevated site and has plenty of extension potential. As it stands, the rooms are spread over two floors and have an upside down layout of sorts. The upper level has the living and dining room and the kitchen as well as the bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms. The ground floor has heaps of potential and is currently home to the garage, and two store rooms.

The garden wraps around the house and there is parking for up to three cars. The house is an easy walk from schools and the university of Limerick. There is also easy access to the Castletroy Urban Greenway for off-road cycling and walking that stretches 1.3km.

Upstairs sit four bedrooms, one of which has an en suite bathroom and then a family bathroom. The area is served with regular transport links to Limerick city centre and is within easy access onto the M7. Shannon Airport is under a half an hour’s drive away.
