Architects criticise Alan Kelly’s proposals for apartment sizes

The Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI) has released a statement saying that the new minimum apartment sizes the Minister for the Environment introduced are not possible to design for.

  • Two government departments located in Government Buildings on Merrion Street in Dublin are set to have a €4 million makeover soon. The Department of Finance and the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform will get a full rewiring and upgrade of fire systems, among other works.
  • A Cork cinema is to be demolished to make way for a €50 million redevelopment. The Capitol in Cork city has been unused since 2005.
  • Images of Facebook’s new data centre in Meath have been released, with the centre expected to be completed in late 2017 or early 2018.
