Revenue Commissioners received 519 applications for first-time buyers scheme 

The Help-To-Buy initiative launched on Tuesday this week and the Revenue Commissioners have said 519 applications have already been received as of 4pm Wednesday. The scheme allows people buying new-build or self-build homes up to a value of €500,000 to claim a tax rebate of up to 5% of the value of the home.

Housing stock in Ireland is at a ten-year low

The latest property report from Daft.ie has revealed that there were only 21,800 properties available at the end of 2016 as opposed to 25,500 in December 2015. Waterford city’s asking prices jumped 14.6% – the highest in the country.

  • City planning could be done in a totally different way if this terraced vertical office design from Aedas architecture firm is adopted. The design is called “Cloud on Terrace” and provides 45,000 square metres of office and retail space in Shanghai.
  • Irish-founded modular home builder and solar energy developer WElink Group is to build 25,000 energy-efficient modular homes in Britain over the next five years in a venture valued at €2.9 billion, according to the Irish Independent.
