Two Kerry brothers plan to construct Ireland’s tallest building in Cork

The Kerry brothers behind some of New York’s most iconic buildings plan to construct a massive skyscraper in Cork’s docklands. Port of Cork confirmed to Fora that it has sold a three-acre site in the city’s Custom House Quay to Tower Development Properties, a new company formed by US-based developers Kevin and Donal O’Sullivan.

Crane drivers the latest group to push for pay rises

A union representing the bulk of Ireland’s crane drivers has put in a large pay claim on behalf of the construction workers. Yesterday trade union Unite sent a draft industry agreement to the Construction Industry Federation, which represents most of the building industry’s largest companies, as well as to several smaller firms.
