Here's the average price of a home in Douglas in 2018

THE AVERAGE ASKING price of properties in Douglas, Co Cork is edging ever closer to the €300,000 mark, according to the latest figures.

Analysis by Daft.ie of list prices across all properties in the last three months puts the Douglas average at €298,300.

This puts the suburb in the top tier of Cork neighbourhoods for price – only slightly behind its neighbours Blackrock and Rochestown, both of which now have average prices well over €300k.

The Blackrock average is now €314,400 while in Rochestown the figure is €326,600.

Prices in Douglas have risen by more than 50 per cent on average since their lowest point in 2012. However, they have a way to go before they reach Celtic Tiger levels.

At the peak of the last boom, the average asking price of a property in Douglas was almost €410,000.
