THE PAST FEW years have taught the Irish to be wary of property price bubbles.

According to latest reports, the average asking price for a home in Irelaind is now €177,000, up 3.5 per cent last year.

However, in Vancouver, Canada, this three-bed 1,951 square foot home went on the market this week for $600,000 (€400,000) – making it the cheapest in the city.

The average price of properties in Greater Vancouver as soared to close to the equivalent of €900,000, according to data released last month from the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver.

The 103-year-old home on Clark Drive is currently priced online at at $628,000, the cheapest detached home listed.

“It’s a very nice, livable house, and (at that price), it is competing with apartments and townhouses,” Mary Cleaver, retailer with estate agency, Re/Max told The Province.
