PSNI search for missing German tourist

The woman, believed to be in her 60s was believed to be headed to a campsite.

POLICE IN NORTHERN Ireland say that they are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of a missing German tourist who was last seen in the Gortin area of Omagh on Thursday.

The woman had arrived at the community centre in Gortin and said that was going to the An Creggan Centre with the intention of going to Dunamore area to camp overnight. She was due to return to the community centre in Gortin on Friday, however she failed to return.

She is described as being between 65 and 70 years old with shoulder length white hair with a fringe and of slim build. She was carrying a backpack and a plastic bag .

The missing woman may have been in the Dunnamore and Draperstown areas on the morning of Friday, 1 August.

Police would ask anyone who may know of her whereabouts to contact them at Omagh on the non emergency number 101.
